Dave Ganulin,

Dave brings to DSC an extensive marketing/PR, education, fitness and wellness background. Having been lucky enough to be raised in a musical family, his experience in the arts started early. Since the age of five he .has been playing classical clarinet but rather than pursue the life of a professional musician, he choose his other loveÖEnglish educationÖand obtained his BS in English education and his MS in Teaching, Curriculum, and Development from the University of Rochester. He is also currently the founder and CEO of Kettlebell Concepts having built, staffed, and marketed the company from the ground up three years ago. Kettlebell Concepts (KBC) has trained over 400 fitness professionals nationwide and counts among its clients Jock Soto (a strong advocate of KB lifting) and former principal dancer of the NYC Ballet, Kris McFerrin, PT & 1998 Adult Silver Medalist in the US Figure skating Championships, Anne KursinskiÖOlympic Equestrian Silver Medalist, Kelly Kane, founder of the Kane School of Core Integration, and many top fitness professionals and physical, & occupational therapists nationwide. KBC is responsible for launching kettlebells at Equinox Fitness Clubs as well as many other gyms and wellness facilities nationwide. Additionally, KBC has published the first ever peer-reviewed university study with Dr. Ted Keating of Manhattan College in the National Sports and Conditioning Association‰s journal. Prior to working at Dance Space Center and founding KBC, he spent five years working in Japan as both an editor-in-chief and college professor teaching English as a Second Language at various colleges and universities. He holds a black belt in Chinese kempo karate and, during his time in Japan, earned a first degree black belt in iaido (the art of Japanese sword drawing.) He is also currently a consultant for Harris Rothenberg and has lectured to a variety of Fortune 500 clients on fitness and wellness. He holds certification as United States Weightlifting Association Club Coach, is a certified Pilates instructor, and holds multiple certifications as a personal trainer. He has showcased kettlebells on CBS News ‹Life with Bonnieþ with Bonnie Kay, the Early Show with Minna Lessig, Fox News.com, and the Channel 11 Morning News. Additionally, He‰s edited four books on martial arts by the award winning YMAA Press and has published in Muscle Media, Men‰s Health, Men‰s Fitness, Black Belt, Not Just Fitness, Fitness, and others. Articles on kettlebells have appeared in the NY Times, Time, Rolling Stone, Tactical Edge, (a law enforcement journal,) Cosmopolitan, Vogue, Time Out New York, Esquire, Men‰s Journal, Fitness, Conde Nast Traveler, ACE Fitness Matters, Muscle Media, Outside, Oxygen, and more. He is incredibly enthusiastic about being involved with Dance Space Center‰s move into a gorgeous new, 25,000 square foot facility in late Summer, 2005 at 280 Broadway. It is a very exciting time in DSC‰s 20+ year history!
