Tasha Norman,
Founder/Publisher of Tendu Magazine

Tasha Norman is the founder/publisher of Tendu Magazine, a free quarterly NYC Fitness and Wellness publication. Tendu Magazine also organizes and produces various Wellness and Fitness events throughout New York City.

Tasha is a graduate of Williams College with a degree in English. She toured the world as a professional dancer from the age of 9 to 18 and was a competition level Gymnast at the age of 11. In the early 90âs Tasha joined the broadcast department of Young & Rubicam, NY and, over the years, has produced commercials, videos and short films. Within Y&R Advertising, Tasha co-founded the ãUrban Reality Groupä, a strategic marketing swat team that specialized in creating advertising/marketing/creative strategies for the urban consumer. She also produced and directed ãWhat is Urbanä, a short film documenting the lifestyles and attitudes of the multicultural urban youth in New York City.

In 2005 Tendu Magazine celebrates Fitness and Wellness in NYC by (1) Honoring three of New York Cityâs top fitness professionals - Pilates legend Romana Kryzanowska, African Dancer Djoniba Mouflet, and Hip Hop expert Brian Green - at the ECA World Fitness Conference, in NYC (March 11-13); (2) Creating the first ãWellness and Fitness Information/Resource Centerä for the Live Well New York Expo at the Jacob Javits Center (April 23-24); and (3) Organizing New York Cityâs National Dance Week (April 22-May1) featuring the New Yorkâs famed Rockettes and Choreographer Frank Hatchett.

Some of Tashaâs projects have included: Tendu Magazine's first annual all-day "Wellness Indulgence Festival" in July, 2004 at Union Square Park in New York City which received enormous media attention and coverage in The New York Times, New York Daily News, New York Post, Newsday, New York Sun, Metro, Am-New York and others, and also attracted a visit from NY Congressman Charles Rangel and good wishes from Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. Teaming up with award winning writer and director Kelly Scott to co-produce ãEcho Park: The Hip-Hop Musicalä which played to sold-out audiences at the Apollo theatre. Being Executive Producer of "Still Moving", a documentary illustrating the challenges faced by a Lower Manhattan modern dance studio during and after 9/11.

Tasha is an ideation specialist, using brainstorming and insights to develop creative ideas, and a branding expert as well as a fitness and wellness enthusiast, a combination that has many consumer-based businesses taking her advice on marketing strategies. Tashaâs insight and information on fitness and wellness is fast becoming a trusted resource. ãI love to do research and to be the tester on anything in the fitness and wellness world. I have a lot of experience and knowledge in fitness and wellness, so Iâm very demanding. Unfortunately, a lot of what people think will work for them, doesnât, for a variety of reasons. My mission is to find out what products, techniques and/or services really work and to tell everyone about them, so consumers can make good choices and not waste time or money."
